Governor-General Resigns; Successor Takes Office

Michael Pitre, former Governor-General of the Dominion of Sayville, resigned this evening after expressing an interest in playing a more active role in government by serving on the Executive Council. The Governor-General is the viceregal representative of the Powhatan monarch and is a largely ceremonial post that serves as a symbol of the Powhatan monarchy's presence in the DOS. Mr. Pitre is succeeded by Theodore Porter , who took office after being appointed by HI&RM The Emperor-King on the advice of the Powhatan government. Outside of the Dominion of Sayville, Mr. Porter is the Duke of Ottis in the Duchy of Ottis , a constituent state of the Kingdom of Northwood-Oregon . Charles Burgardt, Prime Minister of the Dominion of Sayville, released the following statement soon after Mr. Porter's installation as Governor-General: I'm pleased to announce that Theodore Porter has been officially installed as the new Governor-General of the Dominion of Sayville by HI&RM The E...

Sayvillian Governments Ratify Pan-Sayvillian Standards Memorandum

Officials from the Empire of Sayville, the Kingdom of Sayville, the Kingdom of West Sayville, and the Dominion of Sayville signed " A Memorandum on Pan-Sayvillian Standards " yesterday, an interregional agreement between their governments that codifies some aspects of Sayvillian culture to streamline communication between CSR regions. Specifically, the Memorandum establishes "Sayvillian English" and "Sayvillian French" -- defined as the varieties of English and French, respectively, that are spoken by the greater Sayville area's macronational inhabitants -- as the preferred languages for inter-Sayvillian discussion; it mandates that interregional agreements signed between CSR regions be published in both languages to be legally binding. The Memorandum made other changes to improve cooperation between the four Sayvillian micronations. "Sayvillian Time" (synonymous with Eastern Time) is now recognized as the community's preferred ti...

CSR Celebrates Second Anniversary

The Commonwealth of Sayvillian Regions (CSR) celebrated its second anniversary today. Formally called "Pan-Sayvillian Unity Day," January 7 is a Commonwealth-wide holiday that celebrates unity between the Sayvillian regions (i.e. the Empire of Sayville, Kingdom of Sayville, Kingdom of West Sayville, and Dominion of Sayville) and signifies the anniversary of the Commonwealth's foundation on NationStates, which occurred on January 7, 2019. To celebrate the occasion, Charles, King of the Sayvillians, released a statement focusing on identity and community in the CSR; the statement can be accessed here . EOS, KOS, and KWS officials also approved several amendments to the Treaty of the Sayvilles , which was originally ratified on this day one year ago. The treaty was amended to improve the wording of some articles and to introduce a French translation of the treaty, in keeping with the Commonwealth's efforts to promote bilingualism.
