The order went into effect at 12 AM EST today and is expected to remain in force until the next prime ministerial election or when Mr. Ball rescinds the order. Mr. Ball became prime minister on December 11, 2020, after his predecessor, James Xarca, was removed by the Council of Ministers for inactivity.

Representatives from the Empire of Sayville, Kingdom of Sayville, Kingdom of West Sayville, and the Dominion of Sayville signed a memorandum of understanding this past Tuesday. The memorandum clarifies the Dominion of Sayville's status in the Commonwealth of Sayvillian Regions and the Sayvillian micronational community. It was drafted in lieu of amendments made to the Treaty of the Sayvilles in January, a treaty the DOS is unable to sign given its non-sovereign status. The agreement recognizes the Dominion as "a legitimate, albeit non-sovereign, Sayvillian region and micronation" that "is to be treated as an equal member of the Commonwealth of Sayvillian Regions, except in areas where Dominion and/or Powhatan law stipulate otherwise." It also states that "Officials from the Dominion of Sayville are to be afforded the same dignity..." as those from other Sayvillian regions in CSR discussions.

Formally called "Pan-Sayvillian Unity Day," January 7 is a Commonwealth-wide holiday that celebrates unity between the Sayvillian regions (i.e. the Empire of Sayville, Kingdom of Sayville, Kingdom of West Sayville, and Dominion of Sayville) and signifies the anniversary of the Commonwealth's foundation on NationStates, which occurred on January 7, 2019. To celebrate the occasion, Charles, King of the Sayvillians, released a statement focusing on identity and community in the CSR; the statement can be accessed here . EOS, KOS, and KWS officials also approved several amendments to the Treaty of the Sayvilles , which was originally ratified on this day one year ago. Xarca was the KOS's longest-serving Prime Minister and was first elected to office in 2019, prior to the Kingdom's introduction to micronationalism.
